DUSHANBE, November 16, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan’s Red Crescent Society (RCS) has contributed to carrying out repair-and renewal operation on water supply system of the first Day-care Center for Children with Physical Disabilities “Oftobak” in the Hissor district through provided building materials, Asia-Plus has learned from Madina Sayfiddinova, information officers, RCS.
According to her, the repair-and renewal operations have been carried out under financial support provided by the Spain Red Cross.
Besides, volunteers of the RCS branch in Hissor have also participated in a poll to reveal children with physical disabilities, the information officer said.
Sayfiddinova said that 8 social workers are working with the day-care center in Hissor.
As it had been reported earlier, an official opening of the Center “Oftobak” was held in Hissor on November 15. The day-care center is intended for children with physical disabilities living in families.
Gulnora Abdulloyeva, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MoLSS ) said the day-care center in Hissor is dedicated to facilitate social adaptation of children with physical disabilities. “The center to accommodate 20 children will work five days a week and children will have an opportunity to associate with their peers from the nearby kindergarten. Such contacts are very important for them,” the spokeswoman said
According to her, the Center workers will help the children develop their education skills through special game programs.
She said 50,000 euros had been spent to construct and equip the center. According to her, 80 percent of this amount was provided by the European Commission Delegation in Tajikistan, and 15 percent was by Austrian relief organization Hilfwerk Austria, which is a non-profit, cross-denominational and non-party organization providing both international and humanitarian aid.
