Tajikistan’s year-end inflation for 2017 has been estimated at 6.7 percent.
Last month, Tajikistan’s inflation rate stood at 0.3 percent, according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
Tajik central bank had previously forecast that the year-end inflation for last year would to stand at 7.0 percent.
The share of products of the food industry in the year-end inflation for 2017 is reportedly 4.3 percent, the share of non-foodstuffs is 1.2 percent and the share services rendered to the population is 1.2 percent.
The government reportedly plans to keep the year-end inflation for this year at 7.0 percent.
Recall, the year-end inflation for 2016 stood at 6.1 percent, which was 0.9 percent lower than it was forecast.
Tajik central bank notes that an average monthly inflation rate in 2016 was 0.5 percent.
In 2016, the highest inflation rate was reported in January – 1.4 percent.
The lowest inflation rate in 2016 was reported in March, May and October – 0.2 percent.
Since independence, the lowest inflation rate has been reported in Tajikistan in 2013 – 5.1 percent, and the highest inflation rate has been reported in the country in 2011 – 12.5 percent.
