DUSHANBE, November 8, Asia-Plus –Iran’s Energy Minister Said Parviz Fattah is arriving in Tajikistan today for a three-day working visit, according to Tajik Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).
The MoEI source said that during his stay in Dushanbe, Said Parviz Fattah Iranian is scheduled to hold talks with his Tajik counterpart, Energy and Industries Minister Gul Sherali, as well as Transport and Communications Minister Abdurahmon Ashourov and a number of other high-ranking Tajik state officials to discuss cooperation issues.
The source further added that Fattah’s visit to Tajikistan is expected to result in signing of two protocols between Tajik MoEI and Iranian Ministry of Energy (MoE): on construction of the Shurob hydropower plant on the Vakhsh River and the Ayni hydropower station on the Zarafshon River; and protocol on the results of talks of the ministers and discussion of a progress of construction of the Sangtuda-2 hydroelectric power station in Tajikistan.
Mr. Fattah is co-chairman of the Tajik-Iranian economic commission, and therefore, the sides are also supposed to discuss issues related to construction of the Chormaghzak tunnel in the south of Tajikistan and the Anzob tunnel in the north of the country.
