A government session that took place on July 30 reviewed the results of work carried out over the first six months of this year, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Speaking at the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon, in particular, noted that not all resources and opportunities of the country had been used properly over the report period.

In January-June this year, 13 cities and districts have reportedly failed to fulfill their tax payment targets.

Rahmon ordered the ministry of finance, tax committee, customs service and local authorities to take adequate measures to ensure fulfillment of the national budget for 2018.

The head of state also ordered the ministry of finance to review the results of the National Finance Management Strategy designed for 2009-2018 for the purpose of ensuring budget and spending transparency.

The National Bank of Tajikistan was ordered to take measures to ensure stability of the exchange rate of the national currency, the somoni, normal internal pricing, and to strengthen banking control.

Rahmon noted that 107 industrial enterprises have not been in operation over the first six months of the year and the output of 22 basic types of industrial products have decreased over the same six-month period.
