DUSHANBE, September 25, Asia-Plus — Visiting delegation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) Parliamentary Assembly (PA) headed by Vladimir Vasilyev, the chairman of Russia’s Federation Council Committee for Security Matters, yesterday met with senior representatives from the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe.  

According to Information posted on DCA’s website, senior representatives from the Tajik counternarcotics agency briefed the CSTO PA delegation members on measures taken by the Tajik government to prevent drug trafficking as well as activities of the DCA and other Tajik law enforcement agencies dealing with preventing drug trafficking.  

In the course of the talks the sides also discussed the present drug situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the Central Asian region.
