As a result of the floods and landslides that occurred in Kulob on the night of May 1, three people died, and two others with various injuries were hospitalized, the press service of the Khatlon governor’s office reports.
According to the authorities, the mudflow damaged residential houses, as well as a number of social and urban facilities. The exact extent of the damage has not yet been announced.
In the videos posted on social media, mudflows can be seen flooding roads and houses.
Currently, work is ongoing in the affected reas of Kulob to eliminate the consequences of the disaster and clear the territories.

After the incident, an emergency meeting of the regional headquarters for disaster response was held under the leadership of the Khatlon governor, Davlatali Said.
Responsible structures have been instructed to conduct rescue operations, restore infrastructure, and provide assistance to the victims as soon as possible.

Earlier, meteorologists warned that heavy rains and possible flooding are expected in Tajikistan until May 4.
