Tajikistan allocates 120,000 USD for training of 15 athletes for 2020 Olympics

Beginning from January 1, 2019, fifteen Tajik athletes will receive monthly grants ranging from 200 U.S. dollars to 950 U.S. dollars.

The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Tajikistan has reportedly allocated 120,000 U.S. dollars for training of fifteen athletes for 2020 Olympic.  They will receive grants from January 2019 to August 2020.  

Thus, Dilshod Nazarov (men’s athletics) will receive 950 USD per month, Shahriyor Daminov (men’s padding) – 800 USD, Komronshoh Ustopiriyon (men’s judo) – 700 USD, Behrouz Khojazoda (men’s judo) – 600 USD, Temour Rahimov (men’s judo) – 500 USD, Somon Mahmadbekov (men’s judo) and Shohida Qalandarova (women’s judo) – 300 UD each, according to the NOC press center.  

Besides, Mohrou Halimova (women’s taekwondo) will receive 300 USD per month, Shabbos Nematulloyev (men’s boxing) – 350 USD, Karina Klimik (women’s swimming) and Gulsunbi Sharifova (women’s athletics) – 200 USD each.  

Saidjon Gulov (men’s freestyle wrestling), Manizha Madkarimova (women’s taekwondo), Shoira Zulqainarov (women’s boxing) and Suhrob Abdulkhayev (men’s Greco-Roman wrestling) will receive 200 USD per month each.  

The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020.

These Games will be the second of three consecutive Olympic Games to be held in East Asia, following the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and preceding the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.

These Games will see the introduction of additional disciplines within several of the Summer Olympics sports, including 3×3 basketball, freestyle BMX and Madison cycling, as well as further mixed events.
