DUSHANBE, September 4, Asia-Plus — Duties of Tajik Transport Institute have folded into Tajik Technical University and the Transport Institute itself has been transformed into the Transport Faculty at Tajik Technical University.

Commenting on this subject, Olim Boboyev, former chancellor of Transport Institute, told Asia-Plus that he considers it inexpedient to establish one faculty on the basis of Transport Institute and the Road Faculty at Technical University.

“The former Transport Institute had three faculties: air transport; rail transport; and road-building faculty,” said Boboyev, “It would be more expedient to unite the institute’s road-building faculty and the road faculty at the university and establish another faculty on the basis of air- and rail-transport faculties at Transport Institute.”

According to him, Tajikistan has needs the air-and-rail-transport faculty to train personnel for these sectors.

President Rahmon signed a resolution on transforming Transport Institute into transport Faculty at Technical University on September 3.
