DUSHANBE, September 4, Asia-Plus — The Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) intends to hold a 10-day cultural event during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.
Hikmatullo Sayfullozoda, the head of the IRPT analytical center, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that the party intends to hold this event from September 15 to September 25. “During the period, theological conversations will be held after iftor at the party’s headquarters in Dushanbe,” Sayfullozoda said.
Iftor refers to the evening meal for breaking the daily fast during the month of Ramadan
. Iftor during Ramadan is often done as a community, with Muslims gathering to break their fast together. Iftor is done right after Maghrib (sunset) time.
Sayfullozoda also noted that these 10-day theological conversations will end on September 25 with the event to commemorate the first anniversary of death of former leader of the IRPT Said Abdullo Nouri.
Said Abdullo Nouri, died in Dushanbe on September 9, 2006, after a long illness.
