Rahmon shakes up regional administrators

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has introduced a number of staff changes, according to the Tajik president’s official website.  

By president’s decrees issued on July 22 the mayor of the city of Nurek and heads of Kushoniyon, Vakhsh, Yovon, Jaihoun, Panj, Shahritous, Nosir Khusrav, Vose, Temur-Malik and Sangvor districts have been replaced.  

Meanwhile, an official source at the Khatlon regional administration says Ikromiddin Valizoda, who had previously served as head of the Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan, was appointed acting head the Kushoniyon district.  

The president’s website, however, has not published president’s decree on replacement of the head of the Antimonopoly Agency.    

The same source says Jabbor Ghaffor, formerly head of the Kushoniyon district, was appointed acting head of the Shahritous district.   .

Davron Nishonzoda, who had previously served as first deputy head of the Shahritous district, was appointed acting chairman of the Nosir Khusrav district. 

Zarifkhouja Shohiyon, formerly head of the Sangvor district, was appointed acting chairman of the Panj district.  Entrepreneur Qurbon Yusupov was appointed acting head of the Vakhsh district.

Sharbatullo Azizullo, who had previously served as head of the Vakhsh district, was appointed acting head of the Vose district.

Abdulhafiz Odinazoda, formerly of the Khatlon Land Management Committee, was appointed acting head of the Jaihoun district. 

Ms. Hilolbii Qurbonzoda was appointed acting mayor of Nurek.
