DUSHANBE, July 31, Asia-Plus — This academic year, Tajik National University is able to accept 2,370 students.  Of them, 1,291 students will study in groups funded from the budget and another 1079 students will stud on contractual basis.   

Qurbon Suyarov, a member of the selection commission, told Asia-Plus that by July 30, they had received 4,022 applications, including 2,336 applications for studying in the federally funded groups and 1,386 applications for studying on contractual basis.

Like the previous years, the faculties of law and economics have received applications more than other faculties, according to him.  

Suyarov added that 16 leavers four had been accepted to the university without examinations.  “Of them, four finished schools with gold medal and 12 others are winners of various republican school competitions,” said he, “To enter the university they have just passed interview.”  

Besides, 95 young women 51 young men from 44 districts and cities of the country have been accepted to Tajik National University by presidential quota.  Suyarov added that there are also certain privileges for orphan children and disabled people.    

Tajik National University has 13 faculties: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, history, Eastern languages, philology, journalism, economics, etc.
