DUSHANBE, April 9, 2009, Asia-Plus — The first session of the council of foreign ministers of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will be held in Dushanbe in the second half of May.
According to information posted on the website of the Kyrgyz MFA, an agreement on this subject was reached during inter-MFA consultations in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on April 7.
During the consultations in Bishkek, representatives from the Tajik and Kyrgyz Foreign Ministries considered a draft agenda of the first session.
The sides expressed interest in preparation and implementation of projects aimed at development of transportation infrastructure in the region, delivery of hydrocarbon resources and electrical power.
Next consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are expected to take place in Dushanbe later this month.
