KHOROG, April 9, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Construction of a new building for the regional TV station, Badakhshan, has started in Khorog, regional center of Gorno Badakhshan.

The new two-story building that is being constructed in the place of old Ayni movie theatre is expected to be finished in eight months,

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the deputy head of the GBAO committee for TV and radio-broadcasting, Bahodur Saodatshoyev, said that the project, including construction of the building and further provision of the TV studio with all necessary equipment, was funded by the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting under the Government of Tajikistan.

The new equipment will allow not only improving the broadcasting quality and but also expanding the broadcast coverage range due to installation of additional transmitting equipment, Saodatshoyev said.  According to him, the TV station’s broadcasting time will increase from one to eight hours per day.
