Tajikistan seeks additional assistance from international donors

The Government of Tajikistan is actively cooperating to receive grant assistance from the World Bank Group ($ 47 million) and the Asian Development Bank ($ 86 million), the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said in an appeal to the International Monetary Fund on financial assistance dated April 30 this year.

The president’s letter posted on the IMF’s website indicates that the republic is also discussing the issue of attracting a $ 50 million soft loan from the Eurasian Stabilization and Development Fund (EFSD).

The President in his letter emphasizes that the republic will make every effort to obtain the necessary funding, expressing the hope that IMF financial assistance will stimulate additional support from development partners.
