DUSHANBE, May 22, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan’s state gas concern, Tojikgaz, is interested in participation at the 8th Eurasian Business Summit that will be held in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on June 3-9.
Ahmad Idiyev, the Tojikgaz energy expenditure reduction project manager, told Asia-Plus that Tajik natural-gas distributor had worked out two investment projects: the project for rehabilitation of gas main in southern Tajikistan, costing $20 million, and the project for modernization and enhancement of the Dushanbe natural-gas-supply, $10 million.
According to him, the Tojikgaz top managers intend to present these projects at the 8th Eurasian Business Summit that will be held in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on June 3-9. He added that the report “Investment Climate in Natural-Gas Sector in Tajikistan” is also expected to be delivered at the summit in Monaco.
“We want to make international community aware of potentials of development of the natural-gas sector in the country,” Idiyev said, adding that it is still premature to say with confidence about participation of Tojikgaz at the Eurasian Business Summit in Monaca. “This issue depends on financial opportunities of the company,” he said.
In the meantime, Ms Margaret Joyce, members of the steering committee (Leading Ventures Associates) told Asia-Plus that the aim of the Eurasian Business Summit is to showcase the enormous investment opportunities present across Eurasia to the corporate world, promote expansion of cooperation in solving issues of financial stability, energy security, economic integration and growth through providing technologies and developing infrastructure, creating new capacities, high-quality management, developing financial ties, expanding and liberalizing commerce and investments.
