DUSHANBE, May 22, Asia-Plus – Regional office of Western Union Financial Services, GmbH for Central Asia and Azerbaijan has recognized open joint-stock company AgroInvestBonk, one of Tajikistan’s largest commercial bank, the best in serving remittances via the Western Union money transfer system.  

According to the head office of AgroInvestBonk in Dushanbe, such a decision was made on results of the “Top Country Teams – 2006” program.    

“Of 29 points for serving international remittances through the Western Union system belonging to various authorized banks, operating in the territory of Tajikistan, the point at the AgoInvestBonk headquarters in Dushanbe has been recognized the best,” the source said.  

The source further added that more than 18 million US dollars and 54 million Russian rubles were remitted to AgroInvestBonk in 2006.  “Over the first three months of 2007 alone, 5 million US dollars and 14 million Russian rubles have been remitted to our bank,” the source said.
