President Emomali Rahmon has signed the RT Law “On the National Budget for 2021,” according to the Tajik president’s official website. 

The budget was reportedly developed on the basis of the national economy indices, national economic development programs and the national development strategy for the period up to 2030.   

Recall, Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament approved the state budget for 2021 on November 18.

Revenues are projected to be 27.6 billion somonis and expenditures at 28.1 billion somonis. 

The state budget indicators reportedly reflect the economic and social development of the country.  Social spending will account for 47% of budget allocations, with nearly 10 percent earmarked for public education alone.

Tax receipts are expected to stand at 18.8 billion somonis, which is more than 68 percent of the overall volume of the revenues.

The budget projects expenditure of 13.2 billion somonis in social spheres.

In 2021, more than 5.6 billion somonis is expected to be spent on the education sector (592 million somonis more compared to this year’s budget). 

The budget earmarks 2.3 billion somonis for the health sector (59 million somonis more compared to the 2020 budget).

The budget projects expenditure of 4.2 billion somonis in the social protection sphere (262 million somonis more compared to this year’s budget).

1.1 billion somonis is expected to be spent on the sports and culture sector (70 million somoni more compared to the 2020 budget).

The budget earmarks 3.8 billion somonis for the energy sector and 1.3 billion somonis for the housing and utilities sector.
