DUSHANBE, April 9, Asia-Plus – The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos, is scheduled to arrive in Dushanbe on April 13 for a two-day visit.  This visit is part of his tour of Central Asia set for April 10-14.  

The OSCE Chairman will meet top officials in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Fully engaging Central Asia in the 56-country Organization”s activities is a priority for the 2007 Spanish OSCE Chairmanship.

According to the Tajik MFA, during his stay in Dushanbe, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office will hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon, the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Speaker Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev and Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zaripov.

The talks are expected to focus on regional security, fight against drug trafficking and issues related to the OSCE mandate in Tajikistan.
