DUSHANBE, April 9 Asia-Plus – The Business and Economics Education Project (B&EE), financed the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) under administrative support of CARANA Corporation, has awarded 57 student scholarships to higher educational institutions in Tajikistan.

Today morning, 57 competitively selected best students from business and economics faculties at higher educational institutions of Tajikistan received the B&EE scholarships.  

The scholarships are awarded under the B&EE regional scholarship program for Central Asia.  

The source at a B&EE office in Dushanbe said that funds for scholarship that had been provided by open-joint-stock company AgroInvestBonk, closed joint-stock company Babilon-Mobile and Learn Foundation (Switzerland) were doubled by the United States Agency for International Agency.  

A primary objective of the Business and Economics Education Project is to develop stronger links among business and universities, enabling the latter to become more flexible and responsive to market requirements for educated professionals, and to improve career opportunities for graduates throughout Central Asia. 

B&EE ‘s

mission is to enhance economic development, but in particular, to assist economic growth of small and medium enterprises.  The project’s educational mandate will be accomplished through faculty development in higher education, and by assisting professional educational associations to become sustainable. These initiatives will enable higher educational institutions to more rapidly adapt to international standards in economics and business education.
