Tajik-Armenian economic cooperation to be discussed in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, March 9, Asia-Plus – Armenian Ambassador to Tajikistan Aram Grigoryan arrived in Dushanbe today morning.

According to the Tajik MFA, Armenian diplomat is scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zaripov today afternoon. 

During his week-long visit to Tajikistan, Grigoryan is also expected to hold meetings with Energy and Industries Minister Sherali Gulov, Economic Development and Trade Minister Ghulomjon Boboyev and other high-ranking Tajik state official to discuss cooperation issues. 

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT), Armenian is interested in boosting cooperation with Tajikistan in the sectors like construction, processing of precious stones and wine making. 

The source at a MoEDT said that Garnik Vaganyan, the head of one of Armenia’s construction companies, Zevs, is accompanying Armenian diplomat on his visit to Tajikistan. 

In the meantime, Hungarian Ambassador to Tajikistan Janosh Nemet also arrived in Dushanbe yesterday for a five-day working visit.

According to the Tajik MFA, Hungarian diplomat is scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zaripov and the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) speaker Saydllo Khairulloyev to discuss prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Hungary and Tajikistan.
