KULOB, January 24, Asia-Plus — 37 persons have joined the Kulob organization of the Socialist Party (SPT) this month, bringing a total number of Socialists in Kulob to 139, head of the SPT organization for the Kulob region of Khatlon Sharif Islomov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, of those who joined the party in January this year, 10 are residents of Kulob, 9 are from Vose, 8 from Mouminobod, 7 from Shuroobod and 5 from Hamadoni.

Islomov added that Kulob Socialists have been dissatisfied both with Abduhalim Ghafforov and Mirhusein Narziyev and ranked themselves neither among members of the party led by Ghafforov nor among members of the Narziyev-run wing of the party.  “Neither Ghafforov nor Narziyev have provided any practical assistance to the SPT organization in Kulob,” said Islomov, “They are just using us for their personal purposes.”

According to him, representatives from the Ghafforov-run wing of the party recently visited Kulob and asked to submit him a list of the SPT members in Kulob.  “We refused and noted that we have nothing to do with them,” head of the SPT organization for Kulob said.
