Deposit base of AgroInvestBonk increases

DUSHANBE, December 14, Asia-Plus – In November, a deposit base of AgroInvestBonk increased by 20 percent and it has amounted to 220.9 million somonis as of December 1, which is 99.8 million somonis or 82.3 percent more than last year, Sharif Qaraqulov, head of the deposit department of AgroInvestBonk said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, more than 58 percent (128.8 million somonis) of a total volume of deposits in the bank are fixed and savings deposits.  “We expect the bank’s deposit base to have increased by further 10 percent by the end of this year,” Qaraqulov said.

The AgroInvestBonk official noted that in December, average-weighing interest rate on the fixed deposits was reduced by 0.05%, from 16.65% to 16.60%.  He linked this reduction to the reduction in interest rate on the fixed deposits denominated in Euro that had resulted from insufficient demand for this currency among the bank’s customers.

Qaraqulov added that at present AgroInvestBonk offers eight types of deposit products and their number may possibly increase by the end of the year.

Founded in 1992, AgroInvestBonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 57 other branches across the republic.  The present declared capital of AgroInvestBonk includes 210,000 shares, valued at 21 million somonis. The face value of one share is 100 somonis.
