Kyrgyzstan’s Minister for Industry, Energy and Fuel Resources Saparbek Balkibekov offered to stretch daily power blackouts up to 10 hours. It was announced at the selective session of government in the White House Monday.
According to Balkibekov this is the only way we can really save electricity in the country. “In Tajikistan, for example, electricity goes down for 15 hours a day,” the minister said.
This critical measure is needed to avoid blackouts in winter time.
The minister’s initiative was supported by the vice-prime minister Iskenderbek Aidaraliev, who promised to assist in relevant regulation work out.
