The Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) Passport-Visa Service at the Russian Interior Ministry intends to open its representative office in Tajikistan.

The Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan and the FSUE Passport-Visa Service signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation on October 19 in Dushanbe.

The document was inked by Ms. Shahnoza Nodiri, Deputy Minister of labor, Migration and Employment of the population of Tajikistan, and Fyodor Karpovets, Deputy Director-General of the FSUE Passport-Visa Service.

Ms. Nodiri has noted in her interview with Asia-Plus that the document, in particular, provides for the opening of the FSUE Passport-Visa Service representative office in Tajikistan.  

According to her, a MoU was signed within the framework of a government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Russia on an organized recruitment of labor migrants in Tajikistan.  

“The opening of FSUE Passport-Visa Service’s office in Tajikistan will simplify the procedure of registering Tajik nationals wanting to be employed in Russia ensure protection of rights of our nationals and their legal staying in the territory of the Russian Federation,” Ms. Nodiri said.  

According to her, one of the important services that is planned to be offered by this office is passing the fingerprint examination.  

The deputy minister stressed that being in homeland, a labor migrant will be able to get an answer from the Russian Federation within three days whether he/she can go to Russia or not.

She further noted that with the coordinated activity of the government agencies of the two countries the representative office will begin to operate next year.  

Recall, FSUE General Director Sergei Mashin and Head of the Branch of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan in Moscow Zohir Mirzozoda discussed the issue of opening of FSUE Passport-Visa Service’s office in Tajikistan in early February last year.  

It was noted that the representative office will help labor migrants to prepare all documents in their home country and get a work permit upon arrival to the Russian Federation.

They, in particular, noted that in accordance with the procedure, labor migrants will submit all necessary documents in their home country and get a work permit within 5-7 days after arrival to Russia.
