DUSHANBE, October 4, Asia-Plus – Germany as reliable partner will make its contribution to development of Tajikistan in future as well, German Ambassador to Tajikistan Rainer Muller remarked in the reception held on occasion of a Day of German Unity in Dushanbe on October 3.  

According to him, during its holding the European Union Council Chairmanship in 2007 Germany will attach a special significance to relations of the European Union with Central Asia’s states, in particular with Tajikistan.  “Germany wants to intensify its relationships with these countries,” said Muller, “In this connection, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will have a tour of the Central Asian countries from October 30 to November 3, and he is expected to visit Tajikistan on November 1.” 

German diplomat appreciated Tajikistan’s support for operations of international antiterrorist coalition, especially in fighting drug trafficking.  

Senior representatives from president’s office, government, heads of political parties and public associations, as well as chiefs of diplomatic missions and international organizations active in the republic and journalists attended the reception.
