DUSHANBE, October 3, Asia-Plus – The head of an international observers’ mission from the Ukraine-based public association “For Fair Elections”, Sergey Mirzoyev, is arriving in Dushanbe, the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER) said.

According to Muhibullo Dodojonov, a spokesman for the CCER, the commission has to date granted accreditation to 77 international observers.  “All in all, more than 700 international observers, including members of the CIS election observation mission, and some 15,000 local observers will monitor November’s presidential election,” Dodojonov said.

They will analyze a process of opening of polling stations and familiarize themselves with work of electoral bodies on consideration of applications and complains lodged by participants in the electoral process

We will recall that last week, The OSCE/Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the CIS Executive Committee deployed their election observation missions in Dushanbe.
