KHOROG, March 20, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Five  job fairs were  held in Khorog and Shugnan, Rushan, Ishkashim and Roshtqala districts on March 18.

In all, 34 enterprises participated at the fairs, offering 1,037 job vacancies, Mamadkarim Nazarov, an official with the GBAO directorate for employment, migration and social security of the population, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

Some 2,000 people attended the fairs; however, only 144 persons were placed in jobs at those fairs.  Thus, 12 enterprises participated at the job fair in Khorog and offered more than 400 jobs and only 41 persons were placed in jobs.
