President replaces judges, prosecutors and military officials

President Emomali Rahmon has introduced staff changes and the heads of several key departments have been replaced at once.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Emomali Rahmon introduced staff changes in a number of ministries and agencies of the country on July 18.  

Staff changes have affected the judicial system, prosecutor’s offices, defense ministry, anticorruption agency, education ministry and some other agencies.  

The Tajik president’s official website does not name those who were relieved of their posts and those who replaced them, indicating for now only the positions themselves.

The president’s website just says “young skilled personnel” have been appointed to the following positions:

 

  • Chairperson of the Khorog City Court, the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO);
  • Chairperson of the Dousti District Court, Khatlon Province; 
  • Chairperson of the Qubodiyon District Court; Khatlon Province; 
  • Chairperson of the Levakant City Court, Khatlon Province; 
  • Chairperson of the Panj District Court; Khatlon Province;
  • Deputy Chairperson of the Jabbor-Rasoulov District Court, Sughd Province; 
  • Deputy Chairperson of the Dushanbe Economic Court;
  • Deputy Chairperson of the Dushanbe Military Court; 
  • Deputy Chairperson of the Court in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni District.  

 

Besides, by government’s regulations there were replaced: 

  • Deputy Minister of Education;
  • First Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management; 
  • Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Construction and Architecture under the Government of Tajikistan; 
  • Director of the State-run TV Channel “Sinamo”; 
  • Deputy Chairperson of the Communications Service under the Government of Tajikistan; 
  • Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Labor Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan in Russia  

 

By president’s instruction there were replaced:

  • Deputy Director of the National Center for Legislation; 
  • First Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan; 
  • Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan

 

Staff changes have also affected the Ministry of Defense, including the General Staff, military units and military recruitment departments. 

In agreement with the President, young skilled personnel have been appointed to the following positions: heads of departments in the Prosecutor General’s Office of Defense, prosecutor in GBAO’s Murgab District, military prosecutor of the Khorog garrison (GBAO), prosecutor for supervision over the implementation of laws in correctional institutions in Sughd Province, prosecutors in Muminobod and Shamsiddin-Shohin Districts of Khatlon Province, Sangvor and Roudaki Districts (districts subordinate to the center), as well as heads of two directorates of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.
