The Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit took place in Riyadh on November 11.

Media reports say the summit participants have discussed the rapidly deteriorating situation in Gaza and spoken with one voice for the rights of the Palestinian people and reaffirm their collective call for regional peace.

Key priorities reportedly included halting the aggression, protecting civilians, providing support to the Palestinian and Lebanese people, unifying positions, and exerting pressure on the international community to take decisive steps to end the ongoing attacks and establish lasting peace and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, The Times of Israel reports that Saudi crown prince, speaking at the summit, has backed Iran and accused Israel of genocide.

“Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler on Monday called on Israel to respect Iran’s sovereignty and refrain from attacking Iranian soil, while appearing to step up criticism of Jerusalem, accusing it of genocide,” according to The Times of Israel.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly told the summit that the international community should oblige Israel “to respect the sovereignty of the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran and not to violate its lands.”

Egypt’s Daily News says the extraordinary summit saw calls for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

The Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh ended with adoption of a communiqué.
