The Director of the Agency for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Safety (Agency) of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (NAST), Ikhom Mirsaidzoda, participated in the ministerial conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held in Vienna, Austria.

The Agency says that speaking at the conference dedicated to nuclear science, technology, and technical cooperation programs in Vienna on November 28, Ilhom Mirsaidzoda delivered a presentation titled “The Role of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, in Establishing the Regional Center for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Safety, Physical Protection, and Safeguards at the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.”

It is worth recalling that the new building of the Regional Center for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Safety in Dushanbe was inaugurated on October 29.  

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Upper House of Parliament and Mayor of the capital, Rustam Emomali.

A total of 47 million somonis were allocated for the construction from the state budget and contributions from international development partners.

Construction work began in 2021 and was completed in 2024.
