will open in


Dushanbe


on May 29.   

According to information from the Ministry of Health, the conference participants include specialists and experts from

Central Asia

’s states dealing with treating this disease.

Participants at the conference are expected to share experience and achievements in preventing and treating TB in their countries as well as consider issues related to working out regional events on consolidation of efforts to combat tuberculosis in the region and adopting recommendations for successful implementation by

Central Asia

’s states of their national programs.

According to figures provided by the State Committee for Statistics,  833 new cases of tuberculosis have been detected in

over the first three months of this year, which is 28 percent more compared to January-March 2005.
