Tajikistan’s agricultural exports exceeded US$226 million last year

In 2024, Tajikistan exported 268,300 tons of agricultural products worth US$226.7 million, Minister of Agriculture Qurbon Hakimzoda told reporters in Dushanbe on January 30.

Key export figures included: cotton fiber100,500 tons; vegetables30,800 tons (including 29,200 tons of onions); fruits40,100 tons (including 23,700 tons of grapes); dried fruits90,100 tons; and other agricultural products6,800 tons.

 

Growth in agricultural exports (YoY):

  • Fruits+12,400 tons (+45%)
  • Grapes+13,700 tons (2.4x increase)
  • Dried fruits+6,700 tons (+8%)
  • Dairy, eggs, and honey+1,500 tons (7.1x increase)

 

Export destinations

  • 26 countries
  • 85% of exports went to CIS countries
  • 15% went to non-CIS markets

 

Tajikistan’s agricultural imports also rose last year.  In 2024, the country’s agricultural imports reported reached 227,600 tons, valued at US$186.9 million. 

Compared to 2023, agricultural imports last year increased by 83,100 tons, with customs value increasing by US$70.6 million.  

Additionally, 213,700 tons of fertilizers were imported, totaling US$59.2 million.  A totaled included 170,000 tons of nitrogen fertilizers, 7,000 tons of phosphorus fertilizers, and 35,500 tons of other fertilizers
