President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) also Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, on February 20 visited the nursery for rare plants, flowers, and shrubs of Kishvari Sabz LLC, where they observed the cultivation of seedlings, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

The website says the nursery covers an area of 45 hectares and cultivates over 100 species of rare flowers and shrubs, as well as 40 species of ornamental trees, with many of the seeds imported from abroad.

The primary goal of the nursery is to adapt foreign plant species and varieties to Tajikistan’s climate.  To achieve this, a two-hectare greenhouse equipped with modern technology has been built within the floriculture facility.  Experienced specialists work in the greenhouse, growing heat-loving trees, flowers, and shrubs while acclimating them to the local environment.

“Emomali Rahmon highly praised the work of floriculturists and the results of their labor, encouraging workers to expand this experience, increase the number of specialists, and establish more institutions in the field of floriculture across the country," the president’s official website reported.

The president reportedly instructed officials to effectively use such nurseries as a resource for landscaping and greening parks, squares, streets, and avenues in Dushanbe and surrounding districts.

It is worth noting that Tajikistan has adopted the Kishvari Sabz (Green Country) national program designed for 2023-2027, as well as the National Greening Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 20240.  These initiatives are aimed at transforming the country into a truly green nation.
