China
to participate at a session of the council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) foreign ministers that opened in the Chinese city of
Shanghai
today.
The session of foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a regional body comprising

Kyrgyzstan
,
Russia
,
Tajikistan
and
Uzbekistan
, is devoted to preparation for the SCO summit scheduled for mid-June.
According to information from Tajik MFA, the SCO foreign ministers’ session is aiming to assess the results of work carried out by the Organization, outline the most topical problems and set plans for future. The SCO foreign ministers are also discussing proposals on amendments to a procedure of functioning of the SCO Secretariat, as well as on enhancement of the Secretariat’s interaction with other institutional structures of the Organization.
The SCO foreign ministers’ session also will offer its recommendations on candidates nominated to the posts of the SCO Executive Secretary and Director of the
Regional
Antiterrorist
Center
as well as replacement of the SCO Deputy Executive Secretaries.
