on Tuesday May 9.   

According to DCA press service, three persons, including one resident of Dushanbe and two persons from Hamadoni and Shuroobod district of Khatlon were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.  More than five kilograms of marijuana in total were confiscated from them.  At present the suspected drug traffickers are being held in the DCA-run pre-trial detention facility.  

The DCA has warded off 47 attempts of drug trafficking over the past four months.  More than 415 kilograms o drugs, with 208 kilograms of them being heroin, have been intercepted by the DCA officers over the same four-month period.  

In January-April this year, 15 joint operations by the DCA, CIS and Afghan special services have led to seizure of more than 440 kilogram of drugs.  The totaled included 235.5 kilograms of heroin, according to the source.
