DUSHANBE, Mayo 10, Asia-Plus — Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev has passed a resolution providing privileges and free social services to veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.  

The mayoral spokesman Shavkat Saidov says that beginning on Jun1 this year the Dushanbe-based companies “Panjsher”, “Ganjina”, “Dushanbe dairy plant” and other economic entities located in the Tajik capital will watch over war veterans living in Dushanbe, providing them with foods products, etc.    

Besides, war veterans and invalids living in Dushanbe will have an opportunity of free service at special shops and chemist’s shops in the city.  Besides, the Dushanbe health department pledges itself to have provided chambers at hospitals indented for serving war veterans and invalids with TV sets, furniture and refrigerators.  


By mayor’s resolution the Dushanbe committee on architecture and construction, land-tenure regulations should consider a project for the construction of the Veteran’s Palace and submit it for consideration to the mayor’s office by August 1 this year.  The Veterans’ Palace is supposed to consist of museum, a number of offices, teahouse and club.  Funds for the construction of the Veterans’ Palace will be provided from the city’s budget and the construction will start in 2007.
