DUSHANBE, May 10, Asia-Plus — The Dushanbe Health Department intends to purchase the Computed Tomography (CT) “Siemens”, according to information from mayoral press service.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, has told Asia-Plus that Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev passed a resolution on purchasing of the CT “Siemens” for the Dushanbe Health Administration at the end of the last week.  The funds for purchasing this unique technique of estimating the interior of objects from the measurements of radiation projected through the object will be provided from the city’s budget, according to the mayoral spokesman.

Shavkat Saidov says a special commission has been set up for purchase of the CT and on completion of the commission’s work a tender will be announced for purchase of the tomography.

CT is fast, patient friendly and has the unique ability to image a combination of soft tissue, bone, and blood vessels. CT is the workhorse imaging system in most busy diagnostic centers.  Since its invention some 25 years ago, CT imaging has seen massive advances in technology and clinical performance.  Today CT enables the diagnosis of a wider array of illness and injury than ever before!
