Iranian media reports say the Iranian lawmakers have considered endorsed a bill obligating the administration to put its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on hold.

The Mehr News Agency (MNA) says the decision followed U.S. strikes on several Iranian nuclear sites, in violation of international law, including the United Nations Charter.

Tasnim news agency reports that during an open session of the parliament on June 25, MPs unanimously carried a motion to consider a report from the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission about the suspension of the Iranian administration’s cooperation with the UN nuclear agency.

The initiators of the motion have reportedly described their frenzied reaction as a proportional response to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi whose biased report against Iran paved the way for a resolution that subsequently encouraged the Israeli regime to launch a war of aggression on Iran and also prompted the US to bomb three main nuclear sites of Iran in Isfahan, Fordow and Natanz.

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf took a swipe at the UN nuclear agency for its refusal to condemn, even verbally, the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The IAEA has ruined its international credibility, Iran’s parliament speaker said.

Ghalibaf stated that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran will be suspending its cooperation with the IAEA until the safety of Iran’s nuclear facilities are not guaranteed.

“Iran’s peaceful nuclear program will make headway more quickly,” the parliament speaker stated, according to Tasnim news agency.

According to Press TV, the draft bill was supported by 222 lawmakers, while Mehr news agency reports that 223 lawmakers were present at the session, with 221 voting "in favor".
