Major streets in Dushanbe to close for nearly three months due to renovation

Date:

Starting July 8 through September 30, 2025, traffic on several key streets in the capital of Tajikistan will be partially and progressively suspended due to major roadworks.

According to the Dushanbe Mayor’s Office, the closures are linked to capital renovation works on official protocol routes — the roadway stretching from the VIP terminal at Dushanbe International Airport to Karamov Street.

Streets affected by the closures

Traffic will be closed on the following segments:

  • A. Donish Street — from Mastongulova Street to S. Ayni Street
  • S. Ayni Street — from A. Donish Street to Roudaki Avenue
  • Roudaki Avenue — from S. Ayni Street to Karamov Street

The restrictions apply to all types of vehicles.

Changes in public transport

During the closure period, public transport routes will be temporarily adjusted and redirected to neighboring streets to maintain city mobility.

ИЗОБРАЖЕНИЕ

The mayor’s office emphasized that:

  • Road signs and informational boards will be installed for guidance
  • Emergency vehicles — ambulances, police, and fire services — will have unobstructed access
  • A system of continuous coordination will be established between road services, traffic police (GAI), and other relevant authorities to manage traffic flow and ensure safety.
