The Japanese company MAYA MIRAI is seeking citizens of Tajikistan for employment in several sectors, including construction, agriculture, utilities, household services, and hospitality, specifically in hotels and restaurants.

The news was shared by the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of Tajikistan’s Overseas Employment Agency with Asia-Plus.

Job requirements
Applicants for these positions must meet the following criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 50;
  • Have a basic proficiency in Japanese (conversational level);
  • Hold a relevant certification in a specialized field;
  • Possess a professional qualification certificate.

Salary and Opportunities

According to the agency, the starting salary for these positions is US$1,500 per month. However, the exact number of available vacancies for Tajik citizens has not yet been confirmed.  Previously, the Migration Service of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan (MoLMEP) announced around 60 job openings for citizens seeking employment in Japan.

In addition, a MoLMEP had previously invited Tajik citizens to enroll in Japanese language courses, aimed at preparing them for future employment opportunities in Japan.  The Ministry stated that during this training period, only 60 people were enrolled in the language courses, which will last for three months.

Future prospects

The MoLMEP Migration Service emphasized that citizens who successfully learn Japanese will be registered for job placement in various sectors in Japan by 2026.

Earlier, Soleha Kholmahmadzoda, the Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Population, shared in a previous briefing that her Ministry had signed agreements with several countries, including Japan, to foster cooperation in labor migration.  She also highlighted that in 2024, the Ministry had signed 41 legal documents with 15 countries in the labor sector, including Japan.
