” was laid out in the area of Navobod in Rasht District (eastern

), Abduvohid Karimov, Chairman of the Committee for Forestry and Environmental Protection, told journalists yesterday.

            According to him, 3,600 pine seedlings were planted there.  Throughout Tajikistan during 2005, 12,158,700 seedlings were planted under the program for planting with trees and gardens.   “Of these seedlings, 3,253,300 are fruit trees and 6,899,300 are decorative trees,” Karimov said, adding that more than 2 million bushes were planted along irrigation canals and automotive roads.      

In Dushanbe, 1,402,200 trees were planted last year, which is 133,800 trees more than in 2004, Karimov said.
