DUSHANBE, March 4, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik farmers have produced 46 tons of greenhouse tomatoes and 27 tons of greenhouse cucumbers this year so far, Asia-Plus has learned at the crop sector department within the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).
The major part of the greenhouse tomatoes, 26 tons, has bee produced by farmers of the Sughd province.
The Khatlon farmers have produced 7.5 tons of the greenhouse tomatoes and 19 tons of the greenhouse cucumbers over the report period.
Districts subordinate to the center (RRPs) that provide Dushanbe’s markets with farm produce have produced 12.5 tons of the greenhouse tomatoes and 12.5 tons of the greenhouse cucumbers since the beginning of the year, the source said.
