DUSHANBE, October 18, 2010, Asia-Plus – Three militants of illegal armed group were killed in a special operation carried out by government forces in outskirts of the town of Gharm, the administrative center of Rasht district  yesterday, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The source at a MoI says they are nationals of Tajikistan and they took training course in terrorist camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

“It has been established that they were members of the armed group of Mullo Abdullo (Abdullo Rahimov) and Ali Bedaki (Alovuddin Davlatov) and participated in an attack on a military convoy in Kamarob Gorge on September 19,” the source added.

We will recall that two former opposition commanders Mirzokhouja Ahmadov and Mullo Sayriddin and some 30 members of their armed groups laid down their weapons earlier last week and joined government troops to hunt down illegal armed groups in Rasht.  The government, in turn, promised full amnesty to them in exchange for surrender for weapons.

We will recall that Prosecutor-General Sherkhon Salimzoda announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on October 12 that President Emomali Rahmon has offered full amnesty to all armed insurgents fighting government troops in Rasht on the condition they declare a cease-fire.
