Dushanbe. June 14. “Asia-Plus” — Increase in gasoline prices in Tajikistan in the second decade of June is completely justified and connected with introduction of new export duty for fuel by Russia, Head of the Department of Information, Recordation and International Relations of the Tajik Antimonopoly service Elena Rahimova told the AP.

She said that one liter of AI-92 gasoline should be sold at 4,30 Somoni, while AI-95 gasoline should be sold at 4,40 Somoni.

She said that after introduction of new export duties for fuel by Russia, the price of oil products in Tajikistan should be raised by 30%.

Meanwhile, acting director general of Gazprom Neft – Tajikistan company Farhod Mirzoev said that fuel prices will be regulated in accordance with the regulation of the Russian government and depending on fuel prices at the global market. Gazprom Neft – Tajikistan covers 33% of Tajikistan’s fuel market.

Mirzoev believes that introduction of new export duties does not bear political character. “If Russia was planning to create barriers for fuel supplies to Tajikistan, it would not open its gas stations here and pay taxes. It would be much more easier to block these supplies straight at the border. By the way, 90% of fuel is imported to Tajikistan from Russia,” he said.
