DUSHANBE. May 27. “Asia-Plus” — The International Monetary Fund has expressed its concern over TALCO’s (the Tajik State Aluminum Company) unwillingness to publish the results of international audit carried out last year by the British Moore Stephens.

In his interview to BBC Head of IMF Representative Office in Tajikistan Luke Moers said that under related agreement with the government of Tajikistan, TALCO should have published its audit report back in December 2009. “The government of Tajikistan failed to reply to two IMF’s requests on the publication of the audit report,” Mr Moers has said.

He said that in accordance with the official agreement with the British audit company, the results of the audit are provided to the government of Tajikistan only.

IMF official notes that the copy even IMF was not provided with the copy of this report. He stressed that TALCO has published only brief indexes of its economic activity for 2007-2008.
