KULOB. May 27. “Asia-Plus” — One law enforcement officer reported killed another one seriously injured during liquidation of consequences of natural disaster which struck the Tajik city of Kulob on May 7 this year, deputy chief of the Regional Interior Department for Khatlon district, colonel Boturkhon Rustamov told the AP. The first officer died after heart attack while another one lost his leg during evacuation operation.

According to him, officers from the Kulob department of interior feel the heaviest overload during medium security regimes. “Since May 7 up to 300 law enforcement officers from different parts of the district and from various services of the Department of Interior provide security in the emergency camp,” he said, adding that “in the past twenty days law enforcement officers have prevented two facts of marauding.”

Medium security regime will last till the end of ongoing construction of new houses for disaster affected victims which is expected to last till November 7, 2010.
