DUSHANBE, April 23, 2010, Asia-Plus — Issues related to expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia were discussed here yesterday at a meeting of Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), with Abd al-Rahman Ibn Said Al-Jumah, Charge d’Affaires, the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Dushanbe, according to the CCI press service.
In the course of the talks, Mr. Said noted that CCI’s representative office operated in Saudi Arabia closely cooperating with the Tajik Embassy in Riyadh. In May 2009, a conference of representatives from business communities of the two countries took place in Dushanbe and an agreement on cooperation between the cambers of commerce and industry of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia was signed on sidelines of that conference, he noted.
For his part, Mr. Abd al-Rahman Ibn Said Al-Jumah proposed to set up a commission for cooperation between entrepreneurs of Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan. Besides, the Saudi Arabian diplomat supported Tajik CCI’s suggestion to organize an exhibition of the Saudi Arabian goods in Dushanbe.
Sharif Said also briefed the Saudi Arabian diplomat on preparations for holding an international business forum scheduled for May 14 this year, the CCI press service said.
