DUSHANBE, April 10, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Another Afghan national has been detained by Tajik police officers in the southern Khatlon province with a large amount of narcotics.

According to the Ministry of Interiors (MoI), the 28-year-old Afghan national Bozmuhammad waladi Turdi from the Afghan Takhor province was detained in the Hanadoni district, Khatlon province Friday night, at about 11:30 pm.  14 packages containing 3.6 kilograms f heroin and some 11 kilograms of hashish were confiscated from him, the source said.

Over the first three months of this year, Tajik law enforcement authorities have reportedly seized 1,275 kilograms of drugs.  A totaled included 352 kilograms of heroin, 311 kilograms of raw opium and 610 kilograms of cannabis, the source said.
