DUSHANBE, April 8, 2010, Asia-Plus  — 42 swine-flu cases have been officially registered in Tajikistan, Deputy Health Minister, Azam Mirzoyev, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.  According to him, no one in Tajikistan has died from swine flu.

“No new swine-flu cases have been registered in the country since March this year,” the deputy minister said.

He noted that 19 swine-flu cases had been registered in Tajikistan by the beginning of 2010.  “The remaining 23 cases were detected after 400 tested were sent to reference laboratory in London in February this year,” Mirzoyev added.

We will recall that the first swine-flu case was reported in Tajikistan in October last year and the first nine patients were foreigners from China, India and Russia arriving in Tajikistan.
