KULOB, February 16, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Kulob Museum of Manuscripts and Literary Heritage has become owner of copy of the Koran that is dated by specialists to the 15th century, according to Hotam Asozoda, the head of combined directorate of three museums in Kulob.

He noted that they had purchased the Koran from one of local residents for only 500.00 US dollars.

Asozoda added that over the past two years, they have purchased more than ten rare exhibits for the Kulob Museum of Manuscripts and Literary Heritage.  “Among these rare exhibits is partially preserved Shahname by Abulqasim Firdvasi that is dated to the early 1870s,” he said.
